Information on EU consumer rights available in Ukrainian

The European Consumer Centre in Poland has produced fact sheets on EU consumer rights for people who have fled from Ukraine to the EU and those who assist them. The fact sheets are available in English and in Ukrainian.

You can find the fact sheets on the European Consumer Centres Network’s (ECC-Net) eccnet.eu website: https://www.eccnet.eu/news/consumer-and-travel-rights-factsheets-available-ukrainian

Concise essential information in Ukrainian is available on, for example, the following subjects:

  • passenger rights in the EU (general and air travel)
  • passenger rights (trains, coaches and boats)
  • renting a car in the EU
  • legal and commercial guarantees
  • cancellation rights (cooling-off period)

How the European Consumer Centre can help

The European Consumer Centre advises consumers on cross-border consumer issues in all EU countries and in Norway and Iceland. The most common consumer contacts are related to online shopping and air travel. The European Consumer Centres Network also cooperates with the UK International Consumer Centre (UK ICC). All European Consumer Centres also offer their services in English. The European Consumer Centre Finland’s online services and contact information are available at ecc.fi.

European Consumer Centres also advise people who have fled from Ukraine to the EU in cross-border consumer issues if they have questions concerning EU consumer rights or a problem with a company in another EU country. European Consumer Centres do not have the power to settle disputes concerning companies located outside the EU.

If a consumer living in Finland has a problem with a Finnish company, they can receive advice from the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority’s Consumer Advisory Services.
