A consumer markets scoreboard published by the Commission indicates that consumers in EU countries are the least satisfied with the markets for investment, pension and insurance services, real estate services and Internet services.
In markets for tangible goods the most problems were associated with the markets for used cars, clothing and shoes as well as meat and processed meat products. The markets for magazines and newspapers and cultural and entertainment services ranked highest in consumer satisfaction.
The scoreboard is the first ranking of over 50 different markets across all EU Member States. The objective of the scoreboard is to highlight what industries involve the most risks to consumers and help find solutions to the problems discovered.
The Commission will next focus on the markets for Internet services and meat and processed meat products in more detail.
