The European Consumer Centres Network has been helping consumers with disputes concerning cross-border trade since 2005. The Centres operate in all EU Member States as well as Iceland and Norway. The Commission has now published a report on the Network’s operation and achievements.
In 2009 European Consumer Centres handled over 60,000 consumer reports and complaints. Most of the reports were related to online shopping. The Centres were able to resolve nearly half of the complaints received, but approximately 40% of the cases were not resolved.
